Up front: I hold SNPAD tokens and get a bonus for people who join with my code, so I have an interest. That's why the bad parts are here too, so you can judge for yourself.
What you can verify
- The app is on the App Store and Google Play.
- SNPAD has a fixed supply of 280 million, and anyone can read the public contract 0x7723…1875.
- At launch, community users reported that the LG app detects ads and that rewards arrive.
What the team says, but I can't verify
- The project runs through a Romanian company and a US company.
- Rewards will be covered by buying tokens on the market, using ad revenue.
- Contracts with advertisers are on the way.
What isn't proven yet
- Revenue: no ad revenue was confirmed at launch. Until there is, rewards come from a project reserve.
- Rewards: very small for now. See the full sums.
- TVs: LG only. Samsung and Google TV are waiting for approval.
- Deadlines: some past dates have slipped.
- Transparency: the owner uses a pseudonym in the community, and I haven't found a public audit.
- Legal: the app acts during broadcasters' ad breaks, and from what I understand from community discussions, how it opens was changed for legal reasons. In my opinion it could still be challenged.
If you're thinking of buying tokens
This page isn't asking you to buy anything. If you look at the token, bear in mind that the liquidity is no longer locked, the team has said there's no vesting, and a few wallets hold a large share of the supply. The price can fall to zero.
My take
As a free app, the risk is low if you don't put money in and you protect your private key. As an investment, the risk is high. Be wary of anyone asking for your key or recovery words, or asking you to connect your wallet on a website.
